Community School Liaison for Meadow Hall Elementary School
Community Schools
All children deserve a safe place to live, support and opportunity to learn, and encouragement to lead ethically.
Research has shown that Community Schools is a local engagement strategy that creates and coordinates opportunities with its public school to accelerate student success. It serves as a vehicle for hyper-local decision-making that responds to the unique needs of each community.
By bringing together the relationships and assets of a neighborhood, Community Schools can efficiently and effectively utilize resources to advance the well-being of children and their families now and for future generations.
About Your Community School Liaison
I am a Montgomery County native. I am a MCPS parent and I am married to one of MCPS's fantastic educators!
I have a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Bowie State University and master’s degree in Social Work from University of Maryland School of Social Work. I have worked most of my career in the public child welfare system where I have seen how resilient children and families can be when their access to resources is improved.
A Little Bit About
Me....
During my first year at Meadow Hall I will spend time getting to know as many students and families as I can. As I engage with the MHES community, I hope to learn what supports are currently in place, and what supports will help improve student learning outcomes.
